Learn To Patent It Yourself

Patent It Yourself by attorney David Pressman is THE book for inventors wanting to write their own patents. Currently in its 14th addition this reference book is always kept up to date with the current patent laws.

Pressman is a patent attorney and former patent examiner who knows exactly what the patent office is looking for in a US patent. Topics Include:

  1. Advice For Inventors
  2. Evaluating Your Invention
  3. Will It Sell?
  4. Is It Patentable?
  5. How To Patent Search
  6. Drafting Specifications and Drawings
  7. Claims
  8. Submitting Your Application
  9. Foreign Patents
  10. Office Actions
  11. Assigning and Licensing Inventions
  12. Inventor Resources
  13. Trademarks
  14. Copyrights
  15. Trade Secrets
  16. Software

All of this with detailed examples and insider information you won't find anywhere else.

This is the only patent reference book that I use when writing a patent. I will typically use it as a reference book by looking up the topic in question. I can't say that I have read this one straight through as there are hundreds of full 8 1/2" X 11" pages but there is no need to. It is well laid out and indexed so you can easily find the topic you are looking for.

This is one book I highly recommend.
